PERSPECTIVE has to do with how you see the world from your mind’s eye. The who, the what, the where, and the when  in your life is shaped by your vision.”  7/1/13 ~~YoTrip

Everyone has the ability to form an opinion decision based on what you think,  see, hear, touch and feel. Your mind’s eye can set or change the course of your journey in life. Two people can view an event at the very same time and they will have different outcomes based on their perspective.

YoTrip Presents: A Poet People Should Know Ramona “Jonesy” Jones

YoTrip Presents: A Poet People Should Know Ramona “Jonesy” Jones  Ramona Jonesy Jones

In honor of the 17th Annual National Poetry Month, I am graciously yielding my blog space to Poets. For the balance of April I will run and post my new monthly feature highlighting some amazing poets, YoTrip Presents: “A Poet People Should Know “

Five Questions For A Poet People Should Know

Who are you as a Poet? Please share something about yourself and your business.

As a poet I am always thinking of new ways I can write and make myself better.  I get a lot of inspiration from my students.  They know I love to write poetry so when they write poetry they are always trying to please me.  It warms my heart to know that they want to know what I think.  They make me a better writer.

What makes you a “Poet People Should Know”?

Not tooting my own horn, but my words are special.  Each word that I write comes from something I have experienced.  Those experiences have made me who I am today.

When did you find out that you had that something special that you wanted to share with the world?

I have always been a writer but I didn’t realize that I wanted to share my words with the world until a few years ago.  My words had always been written in a journal.  I never shared them with anyone because they were my private thoughts.  Those private thoughts turned into poems.  Little by little I started sharing them and a great friend of mine told me that I should really consider writing professionally.  I took my first step steps and submitted and agreed to write for a book my friend was publishing.  It was refreshing and I felt really good about it.  Afterwards I was connected with two authors who were publishing a poetry anthology and I had some of my poems published in there.  Then I was connected with Freedomink Publishing and I found my home.  My first book Life and Love Through My Eyes was published in July 2012.  I am working on my second book Dismissed Inhibitions for release this October.  I am excited because I have the chance again to share my experiences.

Where can people find out more about you and your poetic work?

People can find out more about me and my work at www.freedomink365.com

My first book Life and Love Through My Eyes is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Books-A-Million.  You may also find me on Facebook (Author Ramona “Jonesy” Jones).

How do you make it all happen?

My publisher, Katandra Jackson keeps me on my toes.  I am so appreciative of her guidance and direction.

Tuesday Thoughts by YoTrip for August 9, 2011-My Scattered Thoughts

Image by The Thinking Doll via Flickr

My Scattered Thoughts

 Scattered (adjective)

  1.  Dispersed

In a number of different places far away from each other

      2.     Infrequent or isolated

Few in number and far apart in distance or time

  1. Happening in only a few places
  2. Spread over a large area

Today has been one of those days where all I have been able to work off of are My Scattered Thoughts. Everything appears to be all over the place, no centralized coming together, no solid ground, no calm train of thinking, just My Scattered Thoughts. For whatever reason the dots of my thoughts were on the page, but the lines could not be drawn to connect them one to another. It seems the more I tried to bring My Scattered Thoughts together, the more they went in several different directions.

Since My Scattered Thoughts decided to drive this day, I felt like I was in a maze of a daze, trying to get to the exit point. My Scattered Thoughts took my focus and put it on the shelf. Once my focus was moved then, My Scattered Thoughts decided to take over and bounce me from here to there in my thinking. Even when I felt like I was able to concentrate and get thinking clear, My Scattered Thoughts found a way to appear!

As I dealt with My Scattered Thoughts today it has made me realize the importance of being able to use your ability to think. Far too often we take the act of thinking and comprehending for granted. To be able to use your mind for the act of thinking is a gift. There are so many people who live in this world and all they have are Scattered Thoughts.

For mental, medical or physical reasons some people’s ability to think and comprehend have failed to function properly.  Thinking requires a place for your mind to formulate thoughts and convey the information to others. When Scattered Thoughts are in control it is hard to think, act, or do things effortlessly.

While My Scattered Thoughts have been in charged for some time today, I am so glad that it is just a passing phase and not a permanent place. I am grateful for the blessing of My Scattered Thoughts, it makes me appreciate the bigger blessing of a sound mind!

Tuesday Thoughts by YoTrip for April 12,2011-Ode to William Henry Clay, Sr. (Vol.2, Iss.2)

My Daddy

Tuesday Thoughts were a bit scattered today

It seems so many things were coming my way

As much as I tried to focus, thoughts would not stay

Each time I felt I had captured it  did quickly decay

I know what really has me all caught up in disarray

You are running rampant in my mind keeping my thoughts at bay

I think back on the memories of you and smile at the sky in heaven where you lay

Happy birthday  Daddy William Henry Clay

Daddy you were and therefore I am, thanks for life, for love, and  for a wonderful legacy!

Thursday Thinking by YoTrip for February 10, 2011-Thoughts Escapes Me (Vol.2, Iss.2)

Thoughts Escapes Me
Thought I thought I really had something to say
I think I know it just went away
I cannot believe the words found a place to hide
Usually the words are always on my side
Been sitting and staring at the page so bare
Looks real strange when the words aren’t there
What can I do beyond letting this time pass
I sure hope this dead space does not last
Tomorrow is another day
I need the word to show up and not play
I am held hostage at the mercy of the few words that appear
I will consider this a time of rest and hope the words are near
Thinking now these thoughtless thoughts to fill this space
I hope that Thursday Thinking soon returns to this place!
