Begin Again, Now Is Not Too Late

Our lives are filled with missed opportunities and times where we have come up short. While we want to be winners each and every time in our lives we must be able recognize that we have a couple of options: give up and quit or take the loss as a lesson and begin again!

Everyday is a new day, tomorrow comes…begin again

When things seem to all wrong, start over…begin again

One door closes on you…begin again

Everyone counts you out…begin again

You are told you should give up…begin again

They say you will never make it…begin again

Possible seems so impossible…begin again

The end is not within your sight…begin again

Game over is flashing on the screen of life…begin again

All the odds are against you…begin again

Starting over is the first step to…begin again

You will never know unless you try…begin again

You are a failure when you do not make an effort…begin again

It is hard and it hurts yet you must…begin again

You CAN is bigger that your can’t…begin again

When you believe in yourself you can…begin again

If you want to prove them wrong you have to…begin again

Let courage be your guide…begin again

Begin with the end already in mind…being again

Have no fear, just do it…begin again

You are destined to be a winner…begin again

2013 YoTrip-Words and Thoughts In Review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,500 times in 2013. If it were a cable car, it would take about 25 trips to carry that many people.

Tuesday Thoughts by YoTrip for October 18, 2011-Move Past Fear

Here is another drafting floor jewel…

It is 11 Days until 2014! You must get a firm grip on the ideal of having some #goals. If you are merely floating through days then the day owns you, your time, your thoughts, your feelings and your abilty to move forward.

What do you desire? How do you expect to acquire your desire? When do you to achieve it? Where do you see yourself 2014? Who is going to stop you?

Are you ready for 2014? Do you have #goals? Join us on Facebook for #The100DaySmartGoalChallenge

Move Past Fear

We have to be willing to move past our fears to get to our dreams. Fear has a way of capturing us and paralyzing our spirit. When fear steps in we have to ready ourselves to fight our way out of those thoughts and feelings to move towards our hopes and dreams.

Thursday Thinking by YoTrip for August 26, 2010-Losing To Gain (Possessions), Part 4 (Vol.3, Iss.4)

Stop worrying about what you have to lose and ...

Stop worrying about what you have to lose and start focusing on what you have to gain. (Photo credit: deeplifequotes)

Well here is another blog post I found on the drafting table. It seemed in perfect alignment with the fact that millions of people purchased lotto tickets with the hope of a chance to become an instant millionaire if they win the 636 million dollar mega lottery drawing!

Are you dreaming of becoming a millionaire? What are  15 (6+3+6 ) things you could do with that much money? Would you take a lump sum or installments?  How would your life change as a millionaire? Who would you bless with some of your winnings? Where would you travel, in the USA or beyond?

Tell me how you would answer the questions if you became the 636 million dollar man or woman!

Losing To Gain (Possessions), Part 4

Things, stuff, things, stuff and more things and more stuff. Houses, cars,
stocks, bonds, land, and businesses are just a few of the things and stuff that
people own. Lately, it is hard to find people who have not experienced the loss
of possessions. The current economic climate has heightened people’s awareness
of their things, their stuff, and their possessions. The loss of possessions is
the final installment in the series “Losing To Gain”. Losing possessions is an
area that is worth examining a little closer.

Everyone has something or multiple things which are near and dear to their
heart. Let’s face it, if you worked hard for that car, that house, or that
business your ownership is a serious matter. It has been said that anything you
work hard for is well worth fighting for,if the effort was made to obtain it,
then go the extra mile to retain it. Some would say that these days fighting for
your possessions is becoming a routine task. Many people find themselves in a
position of fighting to keep their things, their stuff, their possessions.

It is amazing how losing one thing or one possession has the ability to start a
cycle of loss. Pat and Paul Possessors are a married couple with two children in
private school, living in a home, with two cars and a mini-van. Pat is a Office
Administrator and Paul is a District Sales Manager and both have worked for
their companies for more than 10 years, with solid retirement plans in place.
The Possessors’ take vacations to destinations inside and outside of the
country, several times a year. Pat and Paul are also the owners of a
successful small real estate company. A year ago, Paul was laid off from his
job, the Possessors have seen their lives change drastically. The Possessors
summed up their loss in this way: one car was loss, the children’s private
school attendance was loss, the real estate business loss clients, but most
importantly the family loss a major income stream. The devastation of losing
possessions was difficult for the Possessors, yet they were determined to stay
positive. The possessions were important to the Possessors but they were not
their central focus.

The loss of stuff, things, or possessions should not only be viewed as the end,
but as a beginning. When loss of possessions occurs, the obvious questions of
why and how settle in waiting to find answers. Losing possessions should promote
the notion of living with less. Many people have been forced to not focus on the
things they have loss but to learn to live better with what they have left. So
if you have experienced a loss of possession recently and find yourself whining
and complaining about your things and your stuff, get OVER IT!

Life is far more precious than the POSSESSIONS you surround yourself with, like a
blanket of comfort. Take time and review  what you have loss and see the blessing in
having your life, your health and your family. Losing to Gain (Possessions) can
best be summed up by the comedic genius of George Carlin. In his stand-up
comedy performance, Mr. Carlin exposes how losing your stuff can easily send you
into a crazy state. *Mr. Carlin (R.I.P.) does use a few choice words in his
delivery but he makes you think about you and your stuff.

Thursday Thinking by YoTrip for 12/2/2010-YOU CAN DO THIS! (Vol.7, Iss.1)

I happened to be reviewing my blog drafts and  this is one of the post that  found itself on blog room floor. I thought this was timely and relevant enough to share with to others. We are 20 days away from the start of 2014 and now is a great time to challenge yourself to get a goal or two and do your best to achieve them.
Who knew that #The100DaySmart Goal Challenge was welling up in me 3 year ago.  The best things in life take time… Your time is now! Make sure to let me know your progress.
December is here and the year of 2010 is coming to a close. As you enter into the last month of the year, now is the time to decide on how to make a great exit. The game is still is going on for the next 30 days. Recognize that there is still time to enter into the game, if you have been sidelined. If you are in the game but have not scored, you still have time to make it happen. Stop right now and say to yourself: YOU CAN DO THIS! Speaking these four words into the atmosphere is a powerful self-affirmation. Let these next 30 days be the start to you meeting the smallest goal or making the biggest shot in your life!

goal (Photo credit: Sean MacEntee)

Are you ready to challenge and stretch yourself to accomplish your goal?
Do you believe YOU CAN DO THIS?
What are your barriers to achieving your goal?
Are you willing to write down your goal(s)?
Are you willing to share your belief in YOU CAN DO THIS! with others?
Can you envision yourself achieving your goal?
What resources do you need to help you achieve your goal?
YOU CAN DO THIS! Keep telling yourself that you can make your goal a reality. If looking at 30 days is too overwhelming to you, then break the month down into weeks. Each week you can set a mini-goal for yourself, and continue to say YOU CAN DO THIS! One week will turn into two weeks and then you are working into three weeks and before you realize it you have come to four weeks. YOU CAN DO THIS!
December has come and will leave in another 30 days. Will you exit the month of December the same way you entered the month of December? YOU CAN DO THIS! Whatever your goal, your dream, or your desire is today, decided that this is a good day to take the steps to making it happen! YOU CAN DO THIS!

Nelson Mandela…The Servant Father of South Africa In His Own Words

The world took a pause as we learned of the death of  Nelson Mandela. We can say a great deal about him but I found it most fitting to let his own words speak volumes to what he has said in his 95 years of living. Take your rightfully earned place of rest…as we honor and salute you Mr.

“One day I will be the first black president of South Africa.” 1952

“During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.” Rivonia trial on 20 April 1964

“Difficulties break some men but make others. No axe is sharp enough to cut the soul of a sinner who keeps on trying, one-armed with the hope that he will rise even in the end.” Letter to Winnie Mandela, 1 February 1975

Friends, comrades and fellow South Africans, I greet you all in the name of peace, democracy and freedom for all. I stand here before you not as a prophet but as a humble servant of you, the people. Your tireless and heroic sacrifices have made it possible for me to be here today. I therefore place the remaining years of my life in your hands.” Speaking on his release from Robben Island from the balcony of Cape Town city hall on Sunday 11 February 1990

“Since my release, I have become more convinced than ever that the real makers of history are the ordinary men and women of our country; their participation in every decision about the future is the only guarantee of true democracy and freedom.” The Struggle is My Life 1990

“Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace. I believe I have made that effort and that is, therefore, why I will sleep for the eternity.” Interview for the documentary Mandela, 1994  http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/dec/06/nelson-mandela-life-quotes

“This is a war. It has killed more people than has been the case in all previous wars and in all previous natural disasters. We must not continue to be debating, to be arguing, when people are dying.” — On HIV/Aids.

“Nobody knows when they are going to die. Even though I am an old man I do not dwell on the possibility of death. Death comes when it is ready.” — Three days before it was announced that he had been diagnosed with microscopic prostate cancer in 2001. http://www.sowetanlive.co.za/news/mandela/2013/12/06/one-hundred-quotes-from-nelson-mandela

Wonder Woman Speaks Out!

Wonder Woman vs. Wonder Woman (129/365)

Wonder Woman vs. Wonder Woman (129/365) (Photo credit: JD Hancock)

If I sat down with my beloved Wonder Woman and conversed I would want to know a few things:

What made her think she could do it all? Wonder Woman was from the Amazon and possesses super-human powers:

Why did she set me up to think I could do it all?

  • Won heroine fighting for justice, love, peace, and sexual equality has also led to Wonder Woman being widely considered a feminist icon

What made her think that jumping into a headband, cape, belt, bathing suit and go-go boots for five minutes could be how you save the world and solve problems?

What would the Wonder Woman of the ’70’s say to the modern-day Wonder Woman?

Does she see Wonder Woman as a game changer?

Wonder Woman thanks for reminding me why you were one of my favorite characters to watch and read about as a child. I am also glad that as an adult I can appreciate this fictional person Wonder Woman,  who changed the game and paved the way for other female sheroes!

Blogging and Writing For The Next 30 Days

BLOGGING and WRITING for The Next 30 Days

I live for an opportunity to exercise my blog/writing discipline ( when I force myself to be on a posting schedule) all in the name of promoting the three P’s- People, Places, and Possessions. People who matter, places worth talking about and possessions I am happy to share. When I am in blog/writing mode I am work the three P’s and do my part to impart knowledge and inform the masses.
This November I have decided to join the company of the beautiful boasters of BlogHer.com for their National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo). For the next 30 days, I vow to blog, write, and post! Sounds pretty simple right, well we will see if I am up to the challenge. I will channel the inner blog/writing discipline and see what comes out on the other side.

Taking part in the NaBloPoMo,also allows me to expand my reach with others in the blog/writing community. I am so a proponent of support and encouragement. I am looking forward to great blogging and writing in the 30 days to come.

Let the blogging and writing begin…

YoTrip Presents: A Poet People Should Know Courtney PHOENIX White

A Poet People Should Know

Courtney PHOENIX White Courtney PHOENIX White

In honor of the 17th Annual National Poetry Month, I am graciously yielding my blog space to Poets. For the balance of April I will run and post my new monthly feature highlighting some amazing poets, YoTrip Presents: “A Poet People Should Know “

Five Questions For A Poet People Should Know

Who are you as a Poet? Please share something about yourself and your business.

I AM… intuitively creatively,

Uniquely divinely,

Physically ferocious

Courageously tangibly,

Binding legally,

Loving me,

Never facetiously,

Yours truly and  literally…. THE… SHIT

I AM…. never the one you love always the one you left

But dear heart I am nobodys second best

I AM….genuinely essentially,

Caressmatically, infatically, certifiably

The infliction of desire and the FIRST… AID… KIT….

I AM…everything possibly and maybe plausibly

Sickingly, amazingly, strikingly, tastefully yummy

Emotionally and Educationally prepared no dummy

I AM…what you need motivationally, never inappropriately, obviously

Curvatiously, sexually, metaphorically, historically, classically, being me generally, non-egotistically

I AM…phenomenally, womanly, satisfyingly, intimately,

The one and only, don’t talk to me like I’m five or six lets just go FIVE..OR….SIXXX….

I AM…animalistically, seductively, passionately, erotically, voluptiously, sensually, romantically, work hard ethically, basically

Sincerely,…..MS….. PHOE…NIX……

I am the owner/CEO of Yume Ai Entertainment.  Yume Ai (Dream Love in Japanese) is an all female all African American company offers basic entertainment services to the public such as photography, modeling, makeup, choreography, song writing, and styling.  I am also an information manager for a company we have recently aligned with called Mxology 21 where we construct streamline event planning for social and corporate affairs.  Writing has always been a passion of mine and I have always written and posted for feedback since 2005.  I have been writing ever since I can remember.  My diary was my first friend.  I am definitely a busy woman but the train isn’t stopping any time soon.

What makes you a “Poet People Should Know”?

I am a  the poet/author of over 125 mixed themed published poems. I have been posting since 2005. The Phoenix bird represents rebirth and the ability to rise from ash with new hope. Because of circumstances surrounding my personal life in 2005, the poet “Phoenix” was born. I am known for primarily for Erotica and have even been referred to as the new age “Zane” however my genres have expanded over the years. I strive to be the voice of women who are afraid of expressing themselves not only sexually but assertively. My greatest desire  would be to “give confidence back to women”. I am currently working on her first novel entitled, ‘Anybody’s Somebody’ in which I depict  women who long for love but instead avoids self-worth and life’s trials and tribulations; replacing it with their insatiable appetite for sex. That replacement only increased disappointment and struggle.  My debut title will be released by FreedomInk Publishing, Fall 2013 via Oppidian.

When did you find out that you had that something special that you wanted to share with the world?

I always put others before myself.   It has always been a gift and a curse.   It has gotten me to the lowest point in my life as well as the journey I am sharing with you now.  I started off writing about my own personal issues and wants and needs sexually and emotionally.  I started to encompass a “No Filter” persona and my audience immediately attached themselves to it.  I am at the point where there is not a day that goes by that I am not called an inspiration.  Women relate to me.  Men are attracted to my raunchy slang.

Where can people find out more about you and your poetic work?

Feel free to contact her with any questions or inquiries at Yumeaientertainment@gmail.com. You may also contact Courtney Phoenix White at courtney@freedomink365.com or cw.writeforyou@gmail.com.  www.facebook.com/courtney.p.3 www.twitter.com/msphoenixfire and www.imaginemephoenix.webs.com

How do you make it all happen?

A lot of prayer and asking for guidance led me on this journey.  I work 13 hours a day and write on the weekends and whenever I can.  I’m living the dream of a shy little girl who’s only goal in life was to be somebody beautiful and successful.
