We are living in a microwave society. In life we want it hot and ready in an instant, a blinking of an eye. In our quest to have what we want, we have a bout of anticipation with unreasonable expectations. Whatever life has for is we want it right at this very moment.
I recall a popular commercial from
back in the day for ketchup. The plastic bottle was turned down and singer Carly Simon was singing in the background, “Anticipation is making me wait”. The person is waited anxiously for a drop of the bright red sauce to hit their sandwich and fries. This is an exercise is anticipation. Fast forward to right now and in our haste to have what we want quickly, we squeeze the bottle and shake it to give us more.
Anticipation is excitement, waiting eagerly for something you know is going to happen. http://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/anticipation. We know that something great is on the way, it is our need to be impatient that overshadows the coming attraction in our lives. Everything that is destined for us already has a scheduled arrival time. It is in the waiting time that we get prepared to unload (deliver) the new arrival in our lives.
It is the ninth month and we are awaiting our next delivery. How are you handling your time of anticipation?
