How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
Outweigh the bad.

I thought we’d get to see forever
But forever gone away
Its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

I don’t know where this road
Is going to lead
All I know is where we’ve been
And what we’ve been through.

If we get to see tomorrow
I hope its worth all the wait
Its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I’ll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
Its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I’ll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
Its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

This song is fitting for this day as we say farewell to the year 2010. This year brought some good times (laughter) and some bad times (tears). Our time of forever can be summed up in the days we had in 2010.

The path we have traveled in 2010 is known and the experiences we encountered we made it through. Now we look to 2011 with the uncertainty of the days to come, but hopeful for what the year will bring.

2010 has given us a full range of memories some good (sunshine), so not so good (rain) yet we were able to find a balance.

Today we say farewell to the year, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and moments of 2010. I see 2011 on the horizon and can celebrate what the New Year will bring!

Thursday Thinking by YoTrip for December 30, 2010-IT’S A WRAP

2010 New Year Dawn

IT’S A WRAP

Listen up people the year 2010 as you know it is over, it is done, IT’S A WRAP. This year 2010 not only has closed the year but the decade of the first millennium. So much has taken place in the last year but equally so much has happened in the last ten years.

Whatever took place in the last 364 days, or in the next 24 hours, the year that was 2010, IT’S A WRAP. You can look back with joy, with pain, with happiness, with sadness, with reward, or with regrets. Just know this, IT’S A WRAP.

So long 2010 it has been a real interesting ride! I am thankful for the gains and the losses, the ups and downs, the peaks and the valleys.I am looking forward to the New Year. I am encouraged, elated, and excited for what 2011 will bring!

IT’S A WRAP this year we know, so look ahead and let it go…

YoTrip-Words and Thoughts for Wednesday, December 29, 2010-What Do You Expect? (Vol.12, Iss.13)

expecting to fly
What Do You Expect?

ex·pect  (k-spkt)
v. ex·pect·ed, ex·pect·ing, ex·pects
1. a. To look forward to the probable occurrence or appearance of: expecting a telephone call; expects rain on Sunday.
b. To consider likely or certain: expect to see them soon. See Usage Note at anticipate.
2. To consider reasonable or due: We expect an apology.
3. To consider obligatory; require: The school expects its pupils to be on time.
4. Informal To presume; suppose.

v.intr.
1. To look forward to the birth of one’s child. Used in progressive tenses: His sister is expecting in May.
2. To be pregnant. Used in progressive tenses: My wife is expecting again.

What do you expect?

A small question with the potential for large impact. This open-ended question of what you expect can give way to various reflective responses. In the days ahead many people will find that they are waiting and wondering about the coming attractions of their life. Much like in a movie theater, people sit watching the screen with anticipation of the start of the main attraction: Coming soon the year 2011.

What do you expect in 2011? What do you expect from yourself in 2011? What do you expect from people in 2011? What do you expect from places in 2011? What do expect from possessions in 2011? Is what you expect better, bolder and brighter? –YoTrip

YoTrip-Words and Thoughts for Monday, December 27, 2010-HOW WAS MY AIM? (Vol.12, Iss.12)

AOL Instant Messenger

Image via Wikipedia

The year 2010 is quickly marching toward a close. Now is a great time to evaluate the past and prepare for the pending future. As we look to start 2011, I ponder the question: How was my AIM in 2010? Did I reach the goals that were set? I wished to ASPIRE personally and professionally. I sought to INSPIRE others by sharing my gifts. I hoped to MOTIVATE the masses to be their best self. There are four more days left let’s see what more we can accomplish!

(Re-posted from Monday, December 28, 2009)

Determined to define my outlook for the coming year, I have decided to take a three-pronged approach to my 2010 tag line.

A.I.M. To Win in 2010

AIM is defined- To intend or direct for a particular effect or purpose, to strive for a goal.

When I think of AIM I am lead to focus on the target or goal that is ahead of me. I thought that AIM needed legs (words) that will constantly make me remember and focus on it. For me AIM now means to: AAspire, IInspire, MMotivate

Aspire is defined-To long, aim, or seek ambitiously; be eagerly desirous, esp. for something great or of high value. To have a great ambition or ultimate goal; desire strongly.

In 2010, I will continue to seek to ASPIRE to higher heights in my personal and professional growth and development.

Inspire is defined-To fill with an animating, quickening, or exalting influence. To fill or affect with a specified feeling, thought to influence or impel.

In 2010, I will continue to INSPIRE by sharing my gifts with others with the hope that significance is achieved.

Motivate is defined-To provide with an incentive; move to action; impel.

In 2010, I will continue to MOTIVATE and push those in my sphere of influence to be their best self.

A.I.M., is a simplistic approach to a winning formula for 2010. A.I.M is personal (for me), is communal (for us), and is essential. I believe with prayer, determination, focus and a spirit of perseverance A.I.M. is possible!

I am interested in your feedback, please share your thoughts before 2009 expires.

Thanks for being you, it does make a difference!
