Have you taken a life inventory lately? There is no better time than the present to make your list and check your list. A life inventory is a personal, practical, and purposeful examination to see where you are, where you are going, and where you want to be in the future. Reflection and inspection focus on where you are and where you have been.

As the last quarter of 2010 begins, it is a great time to take a life inventory and look back over the last nine months, by inspecting and reflection on what did or did not happen. Reflection and inspection are caustic activities that require you to take some time and think about what occurred, why it occurred and what can you do differently. What goals did you make for yourself personally, professionally, or physically? Have you accomplished some or all of the goals? Did somethings just fall by the wayside? What are your plans of recovery? Are you willing and able to put yourself to task and take a closer look on the inside?

As you the journey down life’s memory lane, you will find yourself caught up in thinking back (reflection) and focusing on what was or what could have been (inspection). When you begin to reflect on the last nine months what will you find? What people, places and possessions will bring good memories? What about sad memories? How will you take the time to do inspection of your life for the last nine months? Will the inspection be done in a careful manner? What regrets will you have as a result of your inspection? Reflection and Inspection are not easy to complete, but they are necessary in order to move forward.  Next week we will look at life inventory and focus on direction and correction…stay tuned!~~YoTrip
