As a believer I know that Jesus is Love and there is no love greater that His love for  all in and of this world. In celebration of the children in this month of July, recognize them as a present and a gift. The children are our lasting legacy, make sure you do your part to honor who they are and what they have to offer.

The Greatest Love Of All

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
So I learned to depend on me

The Greatest Love of All” is a song written by Michael Masser and Linda Creed and originally recorded by George Benson for the 1977 Muhammad Ali biopic The Greatest. The song was later popularized by Whitney Houston. Creed wrote the lyrics in the midst of her struggle with breast cancer. The words describe her feelings about coping with great challenges that one must face in life, being strong during those challenges whether you succeed or fail, and passing that strength on to children to carry with them into their adult lives. Creed eventually succumbed to the disease in April 1986 at the age of 36; at the time her song was an international hit by Whitney Houston. http://bit.ly/NlhTRI

R.I.P to A Lover and A Fighter

On Sunday, news broke that  legendary boxer, heavyweight champion, Olympic gold medal winner,Smoking Joe Frazier was in hospice for liver cancer. A  fighter, Joseph William “Joe” Frazier was diagnosed with liver cancer in September of this year, yesterday he went  to battle in his last round and lost, he was 67.  Today, Dwight Arrington Myers aka, Heavy D a giant in the old school Hip Hop world, celebrated his girt by referring to himself as, “the Overweight Lover” collapsed outside of his California home and died at the age of 44. Today A Lover and A Fighter share the spotlight as millions are stunned at hearing that these two beloved men have died.

From his humbled beginnings in the low country of Beaufort, South Carolina, Joe Frazier  to his rise to the highest ranking and title of champion in professional boxing. Joe was a fighter who loved the sport and often was in the shadows of his biggest rival, “the greatest”  Muhammad Ali. The two titan has three battles with Ali winning two of the three. Joe Frazier, was a champion for how he carried himself inside and outside of the boxing ring. For the record, “Smoking Joe” had an impressive career in the boxing ring: 37 total bouts, 32 wins, 27 wins by KO, 4 losses, 1 draw.

A Fighter who made his mark, Joe Frazier will be missed by those who followed the game of boxing, yet he has left his mark by his legacy of a strong and determined champion. R.I.P. to the Fighter and champion, “Smoking Joe” Frazier.

The teddy bear like and playful spirit of  Heavy D, made him a favorite of the ladies in the hip hop fan crowd. Heavy D was the leader of the hip hop group Heavy D and the Boyz, in the late ’80′s this group came on the scene and took off. Heavy D soon left the group and the “Money Earning ” Mount Vernon, New York rapper as a solo artist was able to soar. The Lover had hits with tunes “Now That We Found Love“, “The Overweight Lover”,  ”The Girls, Love Me” and “We Got Our Own Thang” and
Mr. big Stuff” ,”Somebody for Me”. The beauty of the music of Heavy D was that he produced good clean songs.  A real Hip Hop legend, Heavy D was lovable, fun, and had an infectious appeal that captured all types of lovers of music.
In addition to being A Lover in the Old School Hip Hop world, Heavy D also extended himself and did some work as an actor. In some cases Heavy D played himself and also took on characters to show his range. Heavy D was last featured in the 2011 crime comedy Tower Heist, starring Eddie Murphy. The last musical performance of Heavy D , was at this year’s Hip Hop music Awards, it was fitting that A Lover, Heavy D would find himself still performing the music that will stay with his fans and provide us with lasting memories.
Today I am glad to offer this space and place in honor of  A Lover (Heavy D) and A Fighter (Smoking Joe), may your souls find a place of eternal rest! You footprints are all over the world for the things you accomplished while here on earth!
