Where Does It Go…Time

Do you ever find yourself wondering about this incremental element called Time? All too often it is easy to consider Where Does It Go…Time when  it moves from this place and space? It is 2012 and we are twenty-five days into the month, Where Does It Go…Time. Moments to seconds, minutes pass into hours, and then roll into days.  The weeks turn into months  and then the years march into view,  it still makes  you wonder Where Does It Go…Time.

If you are searching for more  time realize that everyday finds it can only handle the 24 hours allotted. Learn to use your time wisely and be productive. While we are pondering  about the activity of TIME, it is  moving along and  thinking, Where Does It Go…Time .

 Has life found you feeling stuck in a rut? Are you trapped in a routine that yields you no joy or happiness? Do you sit and wonder about could have, should have, and would haves of life? Are you always thinking about when will things get better for me? Have your hopes and dreams dried up? Have you given up on achieving more or becoming better? If you answered yes to all or a few of these questions, then now is the time to unlock your POTENTIALfor becoming better.Far too often it is easy to get caught up in the grind of daily life and put your POTENTIAL for becoming better on hold, on the back burner, or on ice. You have to decide to get out of the rut of doing things in a robotic manner. You must remove the barriers that have trapped your joy and happiness. Is this a snapshot of you: You drag yourself up and go to work? You spend eight hours thinking about “why am I here”, only to get up and do it all again the next four days. To unlock your potential for becoming better, you have to decide to develop a plan for getting to a better place. Take your POTENTIAL off hold, off the back burner and the ice and put it on a timetable for becoming better.

Wondering about what could, should, or would happen is counterproductive if you are not taking steps to unlock your POTENTIAL for becoming better. When you take the time to act on what you can do, shall do and will do you will unlock your POTENTIAL for becoming better. Decide to talk yourself into doing positive things and spend less time talking yourself out of doing anything. Become your best advocate and encourage yourself to become a better you.

Hopes, dreams and desires have to be given the spotlight in your quest to unlock your POTENTIAL for becoming better. You must first envision where you want to be and what it feels like to be there. Once you have the vision, then you need the drive to what it takes to get to your place of better. After you put vision and drive into action you will need determination to keep hopes, dreams and desires alive and working.

Now is a great time to invest in unlocking your POTENTIAL. You can decide that where you are is not where you want to be any longer. You can take steps to move from off the back burner and to the forefront of becoming a better you. Take the time to plan, act, and become a better you. Be your best advocate and keep encouraging yourself to move forward. Use the formula of vision+drive+determination=hopes, dreams and desires fulfilled. Today is a great day to unlock your POTENTIAL and become a better YOU!

“CHRISTMAS is the largest holiday celebrated by people all over the world. Too often everyone gets all wrapped up in the presents that are presented and paying little attention to the greatest gift given. Always keep Christ in Christmas.” 12/21/11 ~~YoTrip

The birth of Jesus Christ is the reason for the season of Christmas, yet everyone acts as if it is their birthday. Newsflash folks stop ripping, running and rushing around for others and take a moment to put Christ back into Christmas.

December 25th will come and many people will be so consumed and absorbed with trees, decorations, that jolly joker Santa Claus, and cooking that they neglect and overlook the Saviour, the Christ.

The greatest present Jesus Christ, became the best gift Christmas that has been sidelined on his own birthday.

Beyond children who get sparkle in their eyes at the thought of toys and treats, adults show strive to give presents but keep Christ as the focus. Children should be taught that it is Christ’s birthday and he must be recognized.

During Christmas as you celebrate with family and friends, pause for the cause and of Christ Jesus and remember it is His birthday not yours. Merry  Christmas to you and yours!

A Season of Thanks

As we enter the time of year known as the holidays, Thanksgiving is here and Christmas is fast on its heals. This Is a Season of Thanks, for where we are and who we are, and what we have. A Season of Thanks ushers in a time when we reflect on gratitude. There is so much to be grateful for in this Season of Thanks, we cannot count up all the blessings.

For the next 30 days I will speak on the season of thanks. There are so many reasons to give thanks, 30 days does not even begin to scratch the surface.

Day 1 of the Season of Thanks is for LIFE.

Speak Courageously in the Crisis of Breast cancer

Breast cancer invades the lives of women and men year round. October is the month designated to heighten awareness and educate the masses about this awful disease. The face of Breast cancer is varied, as it has found its way into every segment of society and is does not have personal preferences. Breast cancer screams and is silent in the same breath. Breast cancer cripples and cuts in the same steps.Breast cancer harms and hurts in the same touch.

A dear friend, a coach and a cheerleader of mine, Yvette Register was diagnosed with Breast cancer in February of this year. Yvette was scared, shocked and stunned at the doctor’s words, she thought of her family( her son AJ, Mom and others) and her business (a successful State Farm agency). Yvette found herself at crossroads of decision: fight for her life or let the “c” word win.

Yvette has decided to speak candidly about her journey as she wrote a five-part series in The Orlando Times  (http://www.Orlando-Times.com). the article chronicles Yvette steps as she displays courageous in the crisis of Breast cancer. Reading Yvette’s story offers information and insight as her journey with Breast cancer is unfolding. Yvette’s voice in telling her story is raw, is real, and is remarkable. When Yvette decided to share her story she opened the door of opportunity to help and heal many who are facing the crisis of Breast cancer.

I salute and honor Yvette for deciding to not remain silent in her journey with Breast cancer. A few weeks ago, I along with a room full of others I was blessed to hear Yvette give her personal testimony at the 3rd Annual Pink Ribbon of Hope Tea. The Pink Ribbon of Hope Tea, is sponsored by the Health Ministry at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida. Each year this gathering  of the Pink Ribbon of Hope Tea, celebrates the life of the survivors, brings attention to education and awareness of breast health and honors those who passed on in their fight against Breast cancer.

The attendees at the tea listened as Yvette used heart and humor to tell her story of courage and crisis with Breast cancer. Yvette let it be known that she is fighting and not folding to Breast cancer, she is her own advocate  and seeks the advice of those who have experienced as a survivor or a healthcare provider. The path that Yvette has taken in her journey with Breast cancer is uniquely her’s but she understands her calling and desire to tell all who will hear how important it is to know your body and do not be afraid to seek help.

Yvette is one of my “sheroes”, I love her spirit, her strength and her sound advice. It is so “awesome” to watch Yvette activate her faith in God as she continues on her journey with Breast cancer. Trusting God  has been a place of comfort and care for Yvette, she looks the Word to keep and carry her when times are rough. Yvette is still smiling with a smile that lights up any space she inhabits and touches all who are in her mist. I am glad that our paths crossed and that Yvette has left a beautiful impression in my life.

Time is always relevant when you are dealing with the Power of the Moment. We find ourselves using the smallest increment of time…moments. We can all stand savor the power of the moment for what it offers us. The Power of the moment, is evident is the faces, places, and spaces it appears. Cascade through the slopes of the hills and the valleys at tall peaks

For we all have things restless in our souls seeking to splatter
So spill it like the beans or the bucket of stuff

If We Could See Into the Future…

If We Could See Into the Future … What would the future reveal? Good things, happy things, bad things, sad things are all possibilities that could be presented in our future living.

All too often, we find ourselves wanting and wishing to move the hands of time forward. Whatever is set to happen in the future, makes us want to think about it, see it, hear it, touch it, and be apart of it. Just the thought of what could be, should be and what would be in the future peaks our sense of curiosity. If We Could See Into the Future..We want to leave the here and now unattended, undone, and unfinished to move to those things that are set to come, should we make it to that place called the future.

If  We Could See Into the Future…how much of our ”right now” would we change? I think the old adage, “If I knew then, what I know now, I would have done things differently” comes to the forefront of your thinking about the future. We are so ready to get to the next thing that we do not realize that we have to: come to, in order to go through, so we can get to the future. Our microwave mindset, tells us that coming to and going through are too much in the process, let’s just skip ahead to the future.

If We Could See Into the Future…would we like everything that the future has in store for our lives? We know that all day’s are not perfect nor will they be what we imaged. People change, places change, possessions change and processes change without a reason.

If We Could See Into the Future… I would have known that today would take me on a journey of high’s and low’s, up’s and down’s, mad’s and glad’s in the course of eight working hours. I find myself able to find a ray of hope and a smile because I recognize that there is someone bigger than me that holds the future.

Happy OC Anniversary

July 28, 1998 found me embarking on a new journey to add to my colorful and varied resume, as I spent the day in orientation in a room full of newbies. On this day thirteen years ago, I became an employee of Orange County Government (OCG) within the Growth Management and Environmental Services Division and the Building Department. I know that was a great deal to write and even more of a mouthful to say. I was so glad when the department became Growth Management and we became Building Division and then The Division of Building Safety.

I was hired as a Permit Analyst with the Building Department. My job back then was to assist people who visited our offices for permitting services. I started  out with four other people who were also Permit Analyst. I also started out with a young lady who worked in the communications Department and is still there today.

Working as a Permit Analyst gave me the foundation and training to understand the very basics of the Permitting services business. I worked as a Permit Analyst for fifteen months, as I had a desire to learn and do more within the department. I was promoted to Project Administrator, and was given the opportunity to expand my wings and grow in the business of helping people for the next two years. My next move was to become the Building Coordinator and for the next seven years I was responsible for directing traffic with Permit Analysts, Interns, and temporary workers. This position helped me become a better follower, leader, listener, coach and trainer.

For the last three and a half years, I have been a Program Development Supervisor for the Division of Building Safety (I know the name changed again!). My current position allows me to continue to work with assisting people who need permitting services. Additionally, I can use my advanced degree in Organizational Management to help advance our work in helping our community grow and prosper. I am so glad to watch the landscape of Orange County change before my eyes with building and construction projects.

I say thanks to all who I have worked with and for over the years.I have learned and lived so much in my endeavor to help people realize their dreams. I am happy to say that after 13 years, 3 major hurricanes, record-breaking highs and lows in the building business, I am looking forward with anticipation and expectancy for what the coming years will bring. Happy OCG Anniversary, time sure does fly!

LAUGH
3.Find something to trigger your inner and outter funny

It has been a week, and I need to report how I exercised my four L’s-Live, Laugh, Love, Learn.

I continually try to make living better a priority.
Life is all about how we choose to live it. There were times this week that made life matter so much more. Everyday we have to live a cherished life.

Laugh when you feel like crying.
Find a reason to laugh at something in your life. On several ocassions I just let out a big old gut-felt laugh at myself or something happening around me.

Love is the answer to all things wrong in the world.

It is all about love and love covers so many things. My heart was open to love people even when it did not make sense. Exercising love takes work, patience and understanding.

Learn is a concept that should be a constant for people.
