In this journey called life too often you may find yourself at a crucial point where a decision has to be made. This point of intersection is the crossroad and everyone is subject to a visit to this place as they travel in life . Your crossroad may be personal, family related, career-related, health-related, financially related or any combination of things. It is at the point where you are forced to choose where to go (left, right, or straight) how to go (slowly, moderately, or quickly) when to go (now, later, or in the future), whom should go with you (family, friends or foes). The crossroads are the gateway to making determinations about the next action to take.
When faced with the possibility of coming to the crossroads in life most people would rather avoid this point. It is far easier to move along at status quo than to encounter change. At the crossroads you are required to think, re-think, and then act, but more importantly you have to choose. The choices of where to go, how to go, when to go, and whom to go with are critical components of making a decision at the crossroads.
So there you stand, at the crossroads trying to determine the best choice for this moment in time. Will your decision now have short or long-term effect? Have you looked at the available options and weighed them out? Are you basing your decision on fear, or are you fearful making a choice? Will other people, places, or possessions be affected by your decision? The crossroads evoke questions, that need to be answered as you make decisions.
The crossroads will always be a part of your path as you journey through life. The longer the journey, the more crossroad encounters you will face. Each crossroad should bring you to a different set of circumstances. Your crossroad encounter at the age of eighteen (attend college in-state or out-of-state) should be different from when you are at the age of thirty-five (accept a position locally or one that takes you across the country). As your perspective and outlook grows and develops so will your crossroad encounters.
The next time you find yourself parked at the crossroads of life, you must stop, think and then act. Stopping at the crossroads acknowledges that you realize the critical point at which you have arrived. Once you realize the critical point, it is time to think about why you are at this point and what actions need to be taken to move forward. After you stop at the crossroads, and think at the crossroads, then you must act upon the decision that you made. Taking action moves you from the crossroads back to the pathway on the journey.
The crossroad will always bring you crucial decision point as you journey through life. Many people would rather avoid the crossroads, because of what it requires. Every crossroad brings its own unique set of circumstances. The longer you are on the journey the more crossroads you will encounter. Crossroads help with your growth and development. The crossroads will make you stop, think and act as you continually journey in this thing called life.
